When I Arrived At Hooves & Paws Rescue Of The Heartland At Six Months Old I Was Starved, Neglected & Abused. I Have Come A Long Way Since I Arrived But I Still Have Health & Behavior Issues.
Baby Walter came to us from a severe abuse & neglect case at a very young age. We were contacted by Law Enforcement to remove Baby Walter as he along with his Mommy & Daddy were being starved, neglected & abused by their former Owners. Baby Walter has had three major surgeries since arriving at our facility. One surgery was on his back leg to try to correct a severe lameness issue. The other two surgeries were due to dental issues. His teeth did not develop correctly due to starvation. We had to pull several teeth in order for his permanent teeth to come in. This was a very long process. He is now just OVER 2,000 lbs but he still struggles with lameness in his back leg and he remains “Very Attached†to his Daddy. **Baby Walter is in need of a *Monthly Sponsor* to help defer some of the cost of his feed, medical & farrier services. We will also gladly accept one time donations. One Time & Monthly Donations can be made quick & easy through our Pay Pal link on our website. They can also be mailed to our Rescue/Shelter at 27821 Hwy 34 in Glenwood, Iowa 51534.
