Will You Sponsor Me? Black Betty Is A Life Time Resident Due To Her Past Abuse
Meet Black Betty. Black Betty was one of three puppies at the age of (5) weeks old that was abandoned in a box outside a dumpster on March 3, 2008. Black Betty had severe wounds all over her little body when she was found and her fur was full of blood. We have had Black Betty to our Vet on several occasions and our Vet feels that she is not adoptable due to fear and behavior issues. Our Vet also feels she was very abused in some way in the first (5) weeks of her life which has caused her to have ongoing fear & behavior issues. She loves our family here at the Rescue/Shelter but has never warmed up to anyone else enough to have them touch her or even get near her. Black Betty will only allow you to touch her on her time and that is fine with us as everything takes time. Our hope is that some day Black Betty will turn the corner so that we can hold her on our lap and give her the big hugs that she deserves. But for now she has made great strides and we are proud of her for that .
Due to behavior & fear issues Black Betty has become a forever resident at Hooves & Paws Rescue of the Heartland. Black Betty will remain with us at our facility for the rest of her life.
Black Betty is in need of a monthly sponsor to help with her food, heartworm pills & medical care. One time or monthly donations can be made through our website using Pay Pal or mailed to our facility at 27821 Hwy 34 in Glenwood, IA 51534.
