Our Golden Boy
We bought Shooter to get him out of a horrible situation that he was living in. Shooter's previous Owner did not take him to the vet when his eye became infected. They put medicine that was to be used for people in his eye and covered it with a patch. They said they forgot to remove it for several months. Then, one day they pulled the patch off that they had put on his eye and his eye was worse than when they patched it. He is blind in this eye and has frequent eye infections due to this. When I Arrived At Hooves & Paws Rescue Of The Heartland At Six Months Old I Was Starved, Neglected & Abused. I Have Come A Long Way Since I Arrived But I Still Have Health & Behavior Issues.
Baby Walter came to us from a severe abuse & neglect case at a very young age. We were contacted by Law Enforcement to remove Baby Walter as he along with his Mommy & Daddy were being starved, neglected & abused by their former Owners. Baby Walter has had three major surgeries since arriving at our facility. One surgery was on his back leg to try to correct a severe lameness issue. The other two surgeries were due to dental issues. Our Blind Angel "Goober"
Goober is a very special blind gelding. He was an Owner Surrender due to his family moving out of state. Goober's family loved him very much and saved him from an unknown fate when he was left by his previous Owner in a boarding facility because of his sudden blindness due to medication which was put in his eyes incorrectly for a period of time. You truly learn about love when you meet a horse like Goober. His world is dark due to his blindness but he heart is full of love. Zeus Arrived At Our Rescue/Shelter As A Severe Neglect Case
Before & After - Zeus continues to heal at our facility and will remain with us for the rest of his life due to constant lameness issues from the severe neglect that he suffered in the hands of his former Owner. His hooves are now done on a regular basis. Every six weeks we trim his hooves to make sure that he is kept as pain free as possible. Papa River came to us from a severe abuse & neglect case. We were contacted by Law Enforcement to remove Papa River along with a very young colt, Baby Walter and a Mare, Joy. All were being starved, neglected & abused by their former Owners.
